In the Moment

I get ahead of myself sometimes. 
Combing through my to do list
running like credits on repeat
through my brain
Planning for this, planning for that
always moments ahead
In return, leaving
the Now a few moments
behind...
Before its time
Losing the opportunity 
to experience it
Keeping it unfulfilled

The Now is probably  angry at me sometimes
for failing to see its stunning existence
ignoring its allure
The Now, a constant gift
always waiting patiently for us
to pause
to breathe
to focus
on what we have
in this very moment; fleeting

Before it is all too quickly
whisked away
left Now in the past
prior to being processed...

before being lived.
