There’s that quote by Oscar Wilde: “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
Those are some of the truest words I’ve ever heard We often lose sight of ourselves in this life We neglect the things that bring happiness Days filled with performing the societal norm Climbing the ladder Never bothering to pause To think if what we’re doing How we’re living really serves us
As we get older we tend to stray away from the things that once brought us joy Generally, it isn’t purposeful Life just tends to swoop in… other priorities not enough time
Recently, I made a list Column 1: things that bring a shot of dopamine Column 2: things I spend my days doing The lack of overlap explained so much The “why” behind feeling trapped in a grey cloud watching life float by through a pair of sepia colored glasses
So, everyday I’ve been slowly editing column 2 harmonizing with column 1 creating more overlaps The “have to’s” turning to “want to’s”
Sun peaking out slowly creating a more vibrant world for myself filled with little doses of happiness around every corner
