I took a few days off, saw this prompt and had to chuckle. Remembering life before the internet is why I take breaks from it sometimes. Some weeks I get so caught up in typing away, blogging, Instagram, TikTok, I’ll sit back and realize I’ve lost giant chunks of my day tootling around online. And don’t get me wrong, I love to do it. Reading others posts, engaging, writing away – all of my favorite things. But, sometimes doing it too much causes me to lose connection with real life, with the real physical world.
And whenever I start to feel like that, it is immediately lights out on socials (and the blog) for at least a few days. A quick reset. A quick respite of feeling the need to post. A need that sometimes gets so great it gives me anxiety. And time to focus on physical things- books, artwork, my plants, hiking…anything away from a screen.
I usually come back so refreshed from these screen breaks. And every time I take one, I learn something new about myself. So, if you see me in and out, know I’ll always be back. Sometimes a week offline is the best medicine.
Lastly, thanks to everyone who read my latest short story! I appreciate it more than you know. For anyone who hasn’t – feel free to go give it a read! If you like thrillers/horror it’ll be right up your alley. Links below for parts 1 and 2 🙂

Like I said, we have to take time to make time for ourselves.
Yes, most definitely!
